An entertaining student project in the heyday of Claymation

I don't know how many copies of Scared Stiff are floating around out there, but I have one of them. Kevin MacLean simple, clean, well-paced narrative about a "meat wagon" driver who's cargo starts to move around more than it should. Lighting is a bit dark throughout, but this may have been intentional since it is trying to be "creepy" as well as funny. As one would expect on an early-in-his-career production, some of the stop motion is poorly paced and clunky, but other moments are amazingly smooth and of equal caliber to anything coming out of the Will Vinton studios at the time.

A nice artifact of the day, when anyone with enough artistic talent and patience could create a film that comes close to the quality of any professional production house. Nothing high-tech here; just good storytelling and very good clay animation.
