Anybody else in the States remember this on "Pinwheel"?
FriendlyFiend4 June 2005
I did a search a couple of years ago on this pair of clay-mated characters and was immediately transported back to my childhood, watching "Pinwheel" on Nickelodeon. I found an mp3 of the Chapi Chapo theme song and was in heaven. There were a lot of good "shorts" on Pinwheel and this was certainly one of them.

I truly wish Nickelodeon (or one of its offspring channels) would start showing some of these programs. A lot of what inspires me now as an adult stems from some of the programming I used to watch back then. I'm afraid there's nothing out there as peculiar as some of the shows that used to appear on TV 20 years ago or so.

In addition to Chapi Chapo, Pinwheel had "Bagpuss" another stop-motion animated thing as well as "Emily" about a girl who always wore red and her adventures with her brother and sister. I really miss those shows and wish I could find them again.

Such good memories

I had forgotten about these two characters. I love the delightful music and the charming use of color. Any chance that any merchandise such as posters or figurines were ever made for this show? I would love to have a piece of this artwork to remember them by. Look them up you can find short clips and photos of them on various sites.

I miss the old Pinwheel days on Nickelodeon. Hattytown and Alfie were great too. I wish they would make a channel of classic Nick like they did with TV Land for Nick at Night. Nickelodeon was playing such an interesting mix of shows. As a child, I had no way of knowing that they were bringing in content from all over the world. I just have fond memories that make me smile.

#3. RA and Chapi Chapo

I'm sure François de Roubaix didn't set out to create the most annoying title song ever, but to me he accomplished it beyond belief! Throughout my life, every time someone would hit those first notes, it would drive me nuts! Still does!...lol Musical themes aside, I hardly had any recollections of this show from my childhood. Seeing a couple of episodes now in my fifties, I have to give credit to the show's creators for the seemingly unlimited imagination and fun they put into it.
