How to Plan a Movie Murder (1964)
*** (out of 4)
The trio that would bring us STRAIT-JACKET, director William Castle, star Joan Crawford and writer Robert Bloch, are all here in this promotional film. The three sit together on a couch and discuss the perfect way to pull off a movie murder.
There's nothing ground-breaking about this promotional film and it's certainly not on the same level as Hitchcock's PSYCHO teaser but if you're a fan of the film or the three movie people then you should enjoy it. I must admit that I thought it was a fun piece and it would have at least got me interested in seeing the actual film. Castle doesn't "take over" the film like he did in most of his promotional pieces as he has to of course share the time with Crawford who is fun.
