Every day now as I arrive back at Northwood train station from my day job, it sits there staring me in the face. Big, blue, empty and sad, the shell of Blockbuster Video whose bones have been picked clean by bargain hunters over the last month and whose dead carcass now sits there as an eyesore on the high street, waiting to become a major chain opticians in January. Situated right next door to another locally owned smaller opticians, ironic really considering what Blockbuster did to the locally owned video stores I grew up with.
The signs were there for years really, the end was coming fast and was in the air even before the big financial crash of 2008. Blockbuster died in a manner that is still threatening HMV who somehow weathered the storm and barely made it out, the market has changed and the old guard represented by physical...

A collection of original music, the game's score, and tracks featured in the game's radio stations make up the massive "Grand Theft Auto V" music collection, out now on iTunes.
Oh, I get it--69 tracks. Clever, Rockstar.
The three volumes are available now as either separate purchases at $9.99 each or as a single download for $24.99 via iTunes. The collection includes original music from artists like Twin Shadow and Neon Indian on "Vol. 1: Original Music," to the incidental music and score of "Vol. 2: The Score," and remixed and licensed songs on "Vol. 3: The Soundtrack."
The release of the soundtrack continues Rockstar's media domination following the billion dollar launch of "GTA V" last week for the PS3 and Xbox 360. It's also not the first time they've had a major launch for one of the game's soundtracks: fans of "Vice City" may recall the lavish soundtrack for that game which...

Grand Theft Auto V digital Playstation 3 pre-orders were made available for pre-load overnight throughout the UK. This has led fans to uncover mysterious info through searching of the game’s files. The most significant pieces of info to come out of this leak was the finding of information of a number of music stations and songs. The list below shows the traditional mix of Hip Hop, Rock and Country while including artists such as Snoop Dogg, Britney Spears and Muse.
Please take this information with a pinch of salt as the legitimacy of this information has yet to be clarified by Rockstar. Hopefully within the next few days more will be revealed. If true, what do you make of the soundtrack and which artists were you hoping would make an appearance?

Mark Wright will front a new ITV2 series Wright Off the Beaten Track later this year.
The six-part series will follow the Essex presenter as he travels the world in search of locations and groups in order to throw extravagant parties.
Each episode will see Wright challenged to take on unique and wild parties around the globe and discovering different 'tribes' of people, before throwing them a special event.
Parties will include Us frat events and Harlem block gatherings. Wright will have just one week to get accustomed to the different groups' way of life.
Wright said of the new show: "I know the Essex party scene inside out but I've no idea what to expect about the people I'll be meeting or the parties I'll be throwing.
"Not since leaving the jungle have I been put in a situation that feels completely out of my comfort zone, but I'm...

It looks fairly certain that the most unlikely of TV success stories - Olly Murs and Caroline Flack's Xtra Factor stint - is going to come to an end in 2013.
Murs's music career continues to soar (who'd have thought it!) and he's probably not going to have time this autumn to hashtag his bulge and get saucy with the Flackster and cheeky with Louis Walsh every Saturday night.
So who could possibly step into Olly's boots and team up with Caroline Flack this year? Reality Bites looks at a list of potential replacements:
Matt Edmondson
The T4 host was cruelly dumped off the show at the last minute and replaced by Olly Murs. His hilarious response on Twitter to the news showcased why he deserved the gig ("Got my bag packed, train tickets booked to Birmingham, copy of Simon's autobiography! Can't wait!... What's that you say? Olly Murs?!??!?!") and...

ITV2 will continue to work with Mark Wright despite the critical mauling and underwhelming ratings of his constructed reality show Mark Wright's Hollywood Nights. ITV Digital boss Angela Jain insisted that Hollywood Nights was always supposed to be a single-run series, but claimed that it wasn't the end of the broadcaster's relationship with the Towie breakout star. "It was not an unmitigated disaster," said Jain, when asked about Hollywood Nights. "I think in that show the first couple of episodes we didn't get the format right. (more)...

Former Only Way Is Essex cast member Amy Childs has defended co-star Mark Wright's new show Hollywood Nights. The glamour model described Wright's ITV2 programme, which has suffered in the ratings and been critically savaged, as "brilliant" if "a little cheesy". "I don't know why Mark Wright got so much bad press over his show," she wrote in her New column. "I think it is brilliant. "Ok, so some bits in the first episode were a little cheesy, but it's filmed in Hollywood, so it's to be expected." Childs went on to predict that Mark Wright's (more)...

Mark Wright has ruled out a potential reunion with his Only Way Is Essex co-star Lauren Goodger, claiming that she is "part of my past". Wright, who is currently starring in his own ITV2 series Hollywood Nights, said that the press needed to move on from trying to reunite the couple. Watch Mark Wright talking to Digital Spy about Lauren and Arg below:
Goodger recently claimed in a magazine interview that she would always love Wright, while the tabloids speculated last week that the pair may have rekindled their relationship after they were spotted at the same club night. Greetings MovieRetriever fans, Mike “Turk182” here!
I should start off by apologizing for the tardiness of our “live” blogging from this year’s Hollywood Nights 24-Hour Movie Marathon to raise money for the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan. We here at MovieRetriever are thrilled to once again be part of the Movieathon for another year. We’re joined this year by film reviewer Dane Jackson and his wife Rachel. Welcome to friends.
To be blunt, there’s been very little time between movies to get anything written, let alone get the information out there for you good people. So, ...Read more at MovieRetriever.com...

The folks behind MovieRetriever.com are back raising money for the Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan (one of our favorite charities) again this fall by participating in the Hollywood Nights Movie Marathon and we really need your help! We managed to collect just over $1,500 two years ago and slightly less than that last year and we desperately want to beat those totals this year! But we're getting ahead of ourselves aren't we? How about a little back story to set the mood?

Okay, so maybe the Best Song nominees aren't being performed on the Oscars telecast this year -- thus personally denying me a double dose of my lifelong musical hero Randy Newman. Yet that does not mean this will be a totally tuneless Oscar night. Here then is your free Oscar Party playlist put together in order to make everyone feel like an Academy Award-winner -- or less of an Academy Award-loser -- on Sunday night. Please remember, it's an honor just to be nominated for my playlist. And the nominees are . . . "Hollywood Swinging" - Kool & The Gang "Hollywood Waltz" - Eagles "Hollywood Freaks" - Beck "Everyone's Gone To The Movies" - Steely Dan "Old Hollywood" - Julian Casablancas "Act Naturally" - Buck Owens "Hollywood" - Jay-z "Celluloid Heroes" - The Kinks "Hollywood Nights" - Bob Seger "Deez Hollywood Nights" - Snoop Dogg "Goodnight, Hollywood Blvd. -...

New Delhi -- The Mumbai-based India office of the Motion Picture Association of America launched its latest initiative, "Hollywood Nights," on Wednesday in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy's American Center cultural wing in New Delhi.
"Hollywood Nights" was announced in September with the objective to showcase the latest studio titles ahead of their commercial release here.
The first film to get a red carpet premiere at the American Center's recently refurbished digital cinema was Warner Bros.' "Sherlock Holmes," directed by Guy Ritchie. The film opens in India on Friday.
"We hope to hold between six to 12 premieres like this over the year to showcase the best from Hollywood," said U.S. Embassy Counselor for Public Affairs Michael Pelletier.
The MPAA established its India office in February, headed by Rajeev Dalal, who said: "We are happy to launch "Hollywood Nights" by showcasing a major film from our member studio Warner Bros.
