Unlike The Elm-Chanted Forest (1986) (which did managed to have a US release), this movie never made it outside of its home country for unexplained reasons. Peter Fernandez was working on an English dub for this film, but was refused by American Distributors, possibly due to the some of the female fairies are topless (even though they weren't designed with nipples on their chest) or the scene where Mrazomor gets stabbed in the chest by the Sword of Salvation, which was found too dark for Western viewers, mostly children, as many of animated films were rated G in the US during that period and feared this would earned a PG rating.
