Pete Smith's Wedding Bills was a funny enough short for me
tavm2 October 2013
Just watched this Pete Smith short on the Strike Up the Band DVD. Pete Smith narrates a tale about a man planning a wedding with his list of items and prices prepared in order to budget for it. But the wife-to-be wants some things on the expensive side-like the ring. I'll stop there and just say that I found the whole thing quite funny with the lines Smith says commenting on the action which is silent except for some sound effects. There's plenty of visual gags to go with those punchlines as well that I laughed at quite a bit. Like that dog with a newspaper in his mouth that keeps popping up. Or some modern kitchen appliances that don't always work well. So on that note, I recommend Wedding Bills.
