Despite the press book stating that "West-bound" is hyphenated, a display advert in the San Bernardino Daily Sun, San Bernardino, California, on 27 June 1923, featuring a dramatic drawing of a woman and her horse down on its side on a curve of railroad track, with a man trying to assist her off the right-of-way as a locomotive bears down upon her, clearly spells the title without the hyphen. It reads "Westbound Limited" . Whether the vivid illustration in the advert actually reflects plot action in the film is unclear.
The Moorish dome of the train station seen in the film clearly identifies Los Angeles' railroad depot for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway at the time the film was made: La Grande Station, which turned 30 years old in 1923.
