Not like other Phill Mulloy films

I have watched films by Phill Mulloy before ,and I didn't like them,so , when I started watching this one , I didn't expect much ,but to my surprise , I found a decent portrayal to mankind's cruelty and hatred against each other over something trivial thought to be great, the drawings weren't my cup of tea , but the story was good.

The film runs in a symbolic way most of the time , and it succeeds at this, but the drawings may confuse you and the similarity between the characters could annoy you.

If you watched other films by Phill Mulloy , don't expect this one to be like them - in terms of the storyline and the idea - but , in terms of the animation , it's pretty much the same.

It's not a great film , but it's a decent one , you'll enjoy the symbolism in this film and the true representation of man's greed.

Pretty confusing and pretty weird

I have recently reviewed quite a few of Phil Mulloy's films and with only a couple exceptions, I didn't particularly like them. Part of this is because the animation is rather poor. But most of it is because Mulloy seems more interested in shocking the viewer than coming up with a coherent narrative.

The film begins with a little kid making a splashy red picture and licking and puking on it. Then, oddly, people behave as if the picture is amazingly important. Later, it seems that this childish scrawl is somehow a map of the mythical city of El Dorado and people are willing to kill to get it. Eventually, a group of colonists use it to dig and dig for this treasure--only to end up blowing themselves up. Then, the natives all celebrate and live happily ever after.

If none of this makes any sense, welcome to the club. Frankly, while mildly interesting and less genitally focused than many of his other films, the stream of consciousness story makes little sense and I can't imagine the average person enjoying it.
