An abandoned gold mine is the setting for this Argentine film directed by Victor Laplace, an actor who has worked extensively in his country's cinema. Mr. Laplace co-wrote the screenplay of this strange and hermetic constructed effort with Nestor Romero and Enrique Cortes.

Sebastian, a man with a dream of finding gold in the mine, has stayed behind in the dusty little settlement dominated by a brothel, whose madam yields a lot of power over the few men that have stayed behind. Sebastian's partner, Turco, is a man holding a secret about the mine but he has his associate convinced gold will soon be found. So when Sebastian brings a sample he cut from a rock, the town comes alive with the prospect of the riches that will follow. Leonor, the madam of the seedy brothel, has other plans to keep all the gold for herself. Sebastian decides to do something radical to the mine.

Victor Laplace has enjoyed a long career in his country as an actor. He, like some of his fellow performers wanted to explore in directing. Unfortunately, this project goes nowhere because of the limited scope which does not add anything new to this strange tale. One could advise the director to keep working in front of the camera where he is more valuable than behind it.
