Writer-producer Donald Todd has signed a one-year development pact with Touchstone Television. Although primarily known as a comedy writer, the deal calls for Todd to develop drama and comedy projects for the studio. Todd is working on scripts for the ABC drama development project Doing It, a coming-of-age story involving three teenage boys in Seattle that is said to be among the network's hottest drama pilots this year. (ABC ordered six additional scripts for Doing It when the drama -- executive produced by Gabe Sachs, Jeff Judah, Stu Bloomberg and Francie Calfo -- was picked up as a pilot last year.) Todd's credits include showrunner on the CBS sitcom Dave's World, a writer-producer on NBC's Caroline in the City and a creator/exec producer of the 1998-99 ABC comedy Brother's Keeper. Last year, Todd penned the Touchstone/NBC comedy pilot Once Around the Park, which starred Heather Locklear. Todd joked that he was happy to remain in business with the Walt Disney Co.'s Touchstone TV banner because "the Disney Store discount is a really good fit for a man with a 6-year-old daughter." Todd is repped by the Rothman Brecher Agency.

NBC is back in business with Heather Locklear. The actress has signed a development deal with the network. Under the terms of the pact, NBC will develop a half-hour series project for her targeted for fall 2004. This past development season, Locklear toplined NBC's comedy pilot Once Around the Park, which was not picked up as a series. Her TV series track record includes ABC's Spin City and Fox's Melrose Place. Locklear, who co-stars in the upcoming feature Uptown Girls, is repped by ICM.
Sexy actress Heather Locklear has finally cleared up speculation about her next project with TV network NBC - by choosing to pursue other options instead. The former Spin City beauty had originally planned to release her own show Once Around The Park. But once that failed to make it into the station's autumn schedule, reports emerged she was set to join the cast of Scott Foley's show A.U.S.A. And just this week, Locklear, who has a proven track record of boosting ratings on failing shows, was expected to rescue sitcom Good Morning, Miami. But Locklear, who appeared in Dynasty and Melrose Place, has decided to look for work elsewhere. The actress will next be seen in summer comedy flick Uptown Girls.
