Some thought that Virginie Ledoyen was actually five or six months pregnant during filming. The star in fact wore a prosthetic pregnancy for the shoot and spoke of the hard bodily work and physical discomfort this entailed: "we shot scenes in stifling heat, with my hair sticking to me, false blood on my face, and the latex stomach melting," she says.
In Mexico the film was released with the title "El Convento" ("The Convent") as the action happens in an orphanage. In fact, you can see only two nuns in the movie

There is an impressive scene in this movie, where Virginie Ledoyen's character breastfeed her newborn baby, surrounded by a crowd of children. "It was, indeed, formidable to shoot. I was naked, blinded. Usually, we spot the difficult scenes and by playing them, quite quickly, we end up s give up on it. There, I struggled to overcome the physical discomfort and the deep unease that this scene generated in me. I longed for everything to be over. We only had two or three takes. because the plan was complicated to set up, required a crane and a make-up of more than four hours. I arrived on set and as I couldn't see anything, they carried me and put me somewhere, and the baby peed on me... Despite all the kindness of the team at that time, that 'border line' moments remain. And I had a blank. I don't remember at all how this day of filming ended," Ledoyen said.
