A fitting and loving tribute.
I recently watched all 66 of the Hopalong Cassidy films. Imagine how excited I was when I found this Starz documentary on YouTube about William Boyd, focusing on his career playing Hopalong Cassidy and its impact on the world!
The film is narrated by Dennis Weaver and most of the interviews are with Grace Bradley, William Boyd's final wife and who was married to the star for about 36 years. At about 90, Bradley appears much younger and listening to her was extremely touching. She truly loved the guy and his Hoppy persona. In addition, the documentary had quite a bit from Leonard Maltin as well as showing tons of clips from his films.
Overall, this is a very sweet and loving tribute to the man...and gave me insight into 'Hoppy Mania' that I never knew existed, as his television show and personal appearances all took place before I was born. Well worth seeing and exceptionally well made.
