Meghan Markle was destined to be a royal!
The 36-year-old actress and Prince Harry announced their engagement this week, and she will soon be by his side to work together on causes dear to their hearts.
Markle may be known for her role as Rachel Zane on Suits, but the brunette beauty has also been giving back to the community and fighting for women's rights long before her ties to Prince Harry and her expected soon-to-be royal duties.
Her humanitarian and philanthropic work began prior to her becoming an actress. It all began with her mother, Doria Ragland, who has a master's degree in social work and works as a psychotherapist. In an interview with Glamourearlier this year, Markle listed her mom as one of the women who changed her life.
"My mom's a yoga instructor, but she does social work, as well, and she works specifically with the geriatric community," she stated. "For me...

If any of you watch Happy Days, Don played character Ralph Malph on the show. Getting back to the Pete character, Soapcentral says he’ll be a handyman that arrives to help spruce up the Spectra Fashions building after a fire breaks out. Don recently talked to TV Insider and gave them a little more intel about his Pete role saying, “It's an old building and there's something very dicey going on with the electrical wiring. Pete keeps telling them he's no expert, but they don't want to spring for a real electrician. And then they hire him back a second time!

To Kill A Mockingbird 50th Anniversary Edition (Universal) Robert Mulligan’s film of Harper Lee’s landmark novel pits a liberal-minded lawyer (Gregory Peck) against a small Southern town’s racism when defending a black man (Brock Peters) on trumped-up rape charges. One of the 1960s’ first landmark films, a truly stirring human drama that hits all the right notes and isn’t dated a bit. Robert Duvall makes his screen debut (sans dialogue) as the enigmatic Boo Radley. DVD and Blu-ray double edition. Bonuses: Two feature-length documentaries: Fearful Symmetry and A Conversation with Gregory Peck; Featurettes; Excerpts and film clips from Gregory Peck’s Oscar acceptance speech and AFI Lifetime Achievement Award; Commentary by Mulligan and producer Alan J. Pakula; Trailer. Widescreen. Dolby and DTS 2.0 mono.

Although Ari Folman's "Waltz With Bashir" did not make the shortlist of 15 films under consideration for the best documentary Oscar, it is among the nominees for the DGA's doc award, announced Friday.
"Waltz" will compete with Gonzalo Arijon's "Stranded: I've Come From a Plane that Crashed on the Mountains," in which survivors of a 1972 Andes plane crash tell their story; Elizabeth Farnsworth and Patricio Lanfranco's "The Judge and the General," a look back at the investigation into the regime of Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet; Peter Gilbert & Stevie James' "At the Death House Door," an examination of the wrongful conviction of a Texas man executed for murder; and James Marsh's "Man on Wire," a study of tight-rope walker Philippe Petit.
All the nominees are first-time DGA nominees, with the exception of Gilbert (who won the DGA's doc award in 1998 for "Vietnam: Long Time Coming" and was...

- Essentially, the Annual Satellite Award nominations (now in their 13th year) is some crazy round up that resembles what the Golden Globes usually looks like, and with the extra categories it comes as no surprise that we find a horrible picture like Baz Luhrmann's Australia leading the nominations (thankfully it covers the tech categories and not the main) with Van Sant's Milk and Boyle's Slumdog leading the main caegories. But what I'm taking away from 24 or so categories are the names and film titles that you probably won't find in many more top of the year end honors lists. There are so many categories that are puzzling here, because of the inclusions, the omissions and the badly labeled films in wrong categories (see the Best Original Screenplay below). I’m happy to see that the work in the frigid Nova Scotian weather didn’t prevent David Gordon Green

CBS has pulled the plug on midseason drama Century City after four airings. The Universal Network TV series, revolving around a futuristic law firm in Los Angeles, had little ratings traction for CBS in the Tuesday 9 p.m. slot, where it went up against Fox's American Idol. CBS will fill the void as of next week with The Guardian, which had held down the Tuesday 9 p.m. slot until it was benched to make room for Century City.

Fox's American Idol once again creamed the competition in primetime Tuesday. UPN had a good, if not spectacular, turnout for the finale of America's Next Top Model but the Idol juggernaut made it another rough outing for CBS midseason drama Century City, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research. Fox's 8-10 p.m. airing of Idol brought in an average 26.6 million viewers and 11.3 rating/29 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, which marked Fox's second-highest Tuesday ratings ever, behind last week's benchmark-setting episode. The Idol juggernaut, particularly in its final hour, made for another rough outing for CBS' 9 p.m. midseason drama Century City (7.4 million, 1.9/5) in its second week on the air. UPN pulled in 6 million viewers and 2.8/7 in the same time slot for the conclusion of its second edition of catwalk competition series America's Next Top Model. NBC and ABC were sluggish in the face of Idol with mostly reruns of their regularly scheduled comedies from 8-10 p.m. In the final hour of primetime, a fresh episode of ABC's NYPD Blue (9.7 million, 3.5/10) couldn't quite overtake a repeat of NBC's Law & Order: SVU (10.9 million, 4.2/11).
