How many cases of beer died to make this movie?

Warning: Spoilers
Picture this - a bunch of college-age guys decide to make a movie for a class project, but they've got an idea - they're going to claim it as a documentary, then film themselves making the documentary, and claim to the audience that it's being done with mostly hidden cameras. They get a 'B' in the class (it is, after all, a 90-minute feature-length film), and get it published somehow.

The documentary? Jared, the guy who embodies the worst of the 20ish guy slob traits, is a player - has 2, no, 3 girlfriends, largely because he treats them badly. Brian, his buddy, shows charm, sophistication, and respect for his dates - so he has no girlfriend. Over several adventures and many hi-jinks (interspersed with discussions of what should happen next in Jared's life/the movie), Jared learns the errors of his ways, while Brian learns to be successful with women by treating them badly.

Novel, interesting, and energetic. Flawed with leaden dialog, awful acoustics, and several totally pointless scenes (look, maw - I can do fade shots between running water and a guy looking in the mirror - for as long as we can pay the water bill!).

Of interest for those looking to examine the pitfalls of junior filmmakers - perhaps to avoid those pitfalls. My 15-yo daughter was amused, so it's not totally without redeeming factors. Not what I'd suggest for an evening's entertainment, though.
