Good movie great box art
mm-7420 March 2006
I really enjoyed this film. It may not have been as technically savvy as most of the films out there. But I am an independent movie fan. The story was timely and very sincere. I think the title must be doing well. I saw a lot of copies at Wal-Mart. The artwork on the title is what got me and I was moved by the story. It is tough out there for single parents and you are often put into a situation that you may not know what to do. JD Hawkins has the right idea. He just needs more money to fund his films and he will be a great director one day. Everyone has to start out somewhere. And I think he did a horror film next, I cant wait to see that one. The independent stuff is where it is at. You need to a good idea, a good story and a lot of heart to put your self out there.

Rated "P" for Pleasantly Surprised

I liked the film. Understanding that it was produced on a limited budget, it exceeded my expectations. The script, while weak at times, was better than expected. I felt the actors did a good job overall - notably Hawkins as "Jay", Dade as "Lisa" and Shields as "Alex".

What surprised me the most, however, was the fact that the language was not offensive, there was no violence, and no real nudity - despite several love scenes. This is highly uncommon and unexpected in an urban film, and greatly appreciated. Kudos to Hawkins and Wilks!

rated P for pathetic

I must say this was the worst movie I had ever laid my eyes on. If Mystery Science Theater was still around, this movie would be a perfect candidate for them. Did he use a camcorder or what? The dialogue could have been written my the child portraying the daughter Taylor, or was her name BabyBaby? How could this have made it to the video store, this has access television written all over it. The cover was very deceiving it looked legit, like it was a real studio movie, not a backyard home movie. I guess J.D put too much on his plate this time. This man needs to be stopped. This movie should be sent to all the major colleges with a film department so the professors can tell and show their students how not to make a movie.

Great Film!...

Warning: Spoilers
If you want to see a great film, this is it. Just have some friends over, turn down the sound and add your own dialogue. Wonderful "party" game. Otherwise, stay away from this stinker. His daughter hates his new girlfriend for at least ten whole minutes. Girlfriend buys her ice cream and, suddenly, loves the woman to death. Wish that worked for me in my relationships. Speaking about death, main character's wife dies quickly in the first ten minutes. Lucky her! You, yourself, however do not get that same opportunity. Acting is wooden and you feel like crap for wasting 94 minutes of your life! I am just glad that I didn't see this in the theatre. After watching this mess, I am now in favor of "mercy killing".
