A family birthday and an important cause helped David Arquette reunite his family - including ex-wife Courteney Cox - at a Hollywood premiere Tuesday night. Arquette, 42, stars in the new indie film Sold, which sheds light on the horrors of the global sex-trafficking trade. When Arquette explained to his ex how important the subject matter was, she immediately told him, "I'm in," the actor told People. "That's the support I get from my family. When it's really important you ask for their love and support, and they came out really big for me tonight." Arquette's whole family, including Cox, 49, her partner Johnny McDaid,...

A 16-year-old girl stands before an Iranian judge, pleading for a divorce from her 38-year-old husband. The judge and the husband swat away her arguments: She's too young to be married! "A girl can reach puberty at nine, and then she can be married," declaims the judge. Her future has been ruined — she must go back to school! "Mine too," the husband says. "My reputation has been damaged!"
The husband will not consent to a divorce. Iranian law says that he must if one is to be granted, except in cases where the husband is proven insane, unfaithful, or abusive, and, often, not even then. So, the young woman does what she must. She files a complaint accusing him of causing her "bruises and bodily harm," and tells the judge that witnesses will attest he once tried to set he...

Don't panic, "Mad Men" fans: Elisabeth Moss is very much back in action for Season 6 as secretary-turned-ad agency executive Peggy Olson.
When Peggy decided to quit Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce during Season 5 -- and leave behind her mentor Don Draper (Jon Hamm) -- some viewers worried Moss and her fan favorite character might simply disappear from the show. Although she's not at liberty to say much about the new season, Moss does confirm that she's most definitely a part of it -- and she's been very "pleasantly surprised" with what Peggy has had to do.
But don't expect many details beyond that. "That's my joke," Moss cracked during a roundtable discussion at a recent Los Angeles press day. "I can only say I play Peggy Olson and I work in advertising. I can't even say where I work, or who I'm working with. Super boring."
It's not all boring, however,...

The Carrie Diaries shows a world where the good people are blonde and all the clothes are bad. Unfortunately, so's the script
Two demographics watched The Carrie Diaries at our house. On one side of the couch sat the married middle-aged mom who came of age during the mid-1980s where the new CW show is set. She was able to shout, "Walkman!" and "Madonna!" and "It wasn't like that!!" during the show. That was me.
Curled up alongside, with her iPhone firmly sitting on her lap, was today's female high-school viewer, courted assiduously by the CW network: my teenage daughter. Coming of age in today's world, she was able to shout helpful comments like "He's on Disney!" and "Her hair was better straight!" and "Look away, mom!" during the kissing scenes. As a mother-daughter bonding experience the show couldn't have been better. As television entertainment it couldn't have been worse.

Let's get the urgent concern out of the way first: Are we Ok with the idea of Lifetime's Steel Magnolias remake? I'm on the fence, but I love Phylicia Rashad, Jill Scott, and mesmerizing newcomer Adepero Oduye. That's the good news. The downside is that a Lifetime remake may expose Steel Magnolias for what it really is: a Lifetime movie at heart.
As much as the lovable 1989 tearjerker comes up in conversation (which is mysteriously a lot, at least for me), it's a slight movie with a plot suitable for the network that brought you She's Too Young and every gymnast biopic featuring a traumatizing uneven bars scene. But that's also Steel Magnolias' charm; though it's a calculated, star-studded weep machine, it's also completely embraceable (and quotable!) on those terms. Here are the reasons it may be The best movie ever.
1. Everyone has a Steel Magnolia spirit animal.
This is so important.

Sridevi who is noted as one of the popular actresses of Bollywood is making her comenack with ‘English Vinglish’ opposite Amitabh Bachchan. The veteran actress does not want her daughter Jhanavi to act in films. Sridevi feels that Jhanavi is too young for films and she must concentrate on studies. Speaking about her daughter's career, she said, “I don't want her to do anything at this point besides focusing on her studies. Jahnavi is just 15 and doing well in school. I'm happy with that. She's too young to do films. I want both my daughters to get a good education. I missed out on it as I was working from...

The moment has arrived! It's down to the "American Idol" Top 2 - Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina. After some pre-show hullabaloo about how Lauren might have lost her voice and Haley might have to replace her in the finals, it appears Lauren is fine. Or this is just a calculated move to see if a girl can win in the first time since Season 6.
The judges come out and J.Lo looks like a majorette, while Steven Tyler has just fully evolved into someone's crazypants Aunt Helen. Seacrest looks dapper in a tuxedo. Randy has on a brown shirt.
The rounds are contestants' choice, Idols' idol choice and first single. We'll do just like last week - pick a winner of each round.
Round 1 (Contestants' choice)
Winner - Scotty McCreery, "Gone," Montgomery Gentry
This is not the song for Scotty I would've picked out of his entire season-long repertoire. It doesn't show his vocals enough.
