TORONTO -- Kids animation is making a splash on the eve of the international television market MIPTV in Cannes with a slew of deals by two major international animation houses -- Canada's Nelvana Ltd. and Germany's TV-Loonland -- unveiled Thursday. Cartoon Network Latin America has picked up a major package of cartoons from Canadian animation producer Nelvana Ltd., including Max & Ruby, The Berenstain Bears, Pecola, 6teen, Delta State, Clone High and Bob & Margaret. The agreement, unveiled by Toronto-based Nelvana on Thursday, comes on top of a deal in January 2004 that sent three other Nelvana cartoons -- My Dad the Rock Star, Jacob Two-Two and Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Kids -- to the Latin American channel.
