- Plentiful amounts. Leon charges through the castle killing monsters left and right with quick and sharp strikes with the whip. Blood splatters with whip strikes against certain non-skeletal foes, with copious amounts for certain monster deaths (e.g. the Merman enemy explodes in a body-sized burst of blood), seemingly tame for an M-rated title until the player comes across the Forgotten One boss, a gigantic demon's upper torso with exposed organ that spill out gallons of dark blood upon being attacked.

- The bulk of the game is dark, creepy, and with a good horror scheme in keeping with the franchise's inherent dark themes. Depictions of scary monsters such as the undead, ghosts, horrific demons and Death himself. The atmosphere is very dark and eerie all throughout.
