Absolute Garbage

It may be useful to explain my frame of mind when I saw this movie.... I finished setting up my home theatre about two months ago... and watched over 60 top world movies... Masterpieces such as Amores Perros, Fargo, The Pianist, The Red Violin, Mullholand Dr. etc… you get the point. Then my wife says let's watch an Egyptian Comedy and we get this movie.... The difference is absolutely shocking. I did manage to complete 75% of the movie, and there were some funny parts which made me laugh, but overall it was horrible. No storyline, exaggerated acting, stereotyping of Egyptians and making fun of other cultures were just few of the points that made watching this thing unbearable... This is unfortunate, because I respect Adel Imam for some of his other cinema & theatre work. I also respect him as a person who stood firm on his political and social views.

terrible film

Warning: Spoilers
Its a real shame that egyptian cinema's still produce such rubbish until now. Egypts biggest star adil imam has been responsible for producing most of the rubbish in the last 30 years, but this is probably the worst ever.

the story revolves around a newly appointed minister, and how he has to deal with a visit from a danish women and his four sons who he raised on his own. the film is filled with unfunny jokes, plenty of sexual references that are just there for shock values.

Adil Imam should probably stick to theatre plays where he has produced some great ones in his life, if he continues to do films like this one he will just embarrass himself.

Great Adel Imam Movie
TC-Batsy24 September 2010
I personally liked Al-Tagroba Al-Denemarkiya (Danish Experience) starring comedian Adel Imam who plays Qadry, a widowed father living with his four adult sons. Qadry is later appointed as the minister of youth, and everything is fine until Anita, a sexy Danish girl visits Egypt for the first time and lives in his home as she is working on her studies about women in the Third World. The boys are crazy about Anita which worries Qadry who tries to keep everything under control, especially when she gives them lessons in sex education. He tries to explain to her that he raised his sons on his own after his wife died, and doesn't want her to fill their heads with indecent ideas due to cultural differences, but soon he discovers that he is in love with her much to the dismay of his kids as each one of them wants to marry her.

it is fantastic

Hello every body........... this film is wonderful it is a fantastic film, personally when i saw this film in cinema i hardly stopped my self from laughing, and for the one who said that it is not a good film i want to tell him that the Arabic or Egyptian comedy films cannot be understood or it didn't make them laugh but for the Arabic people it is very perfect. On the other hand some people from the Arab countries don't even smile for some comedy movies like "pink panther" or some series like "seinfeld" or "fraiser". and the film is not garbage as you say so please don't say any thing you don't know and by the way all Adel imam films are perfect not like Canadian movies ..............................lol

Absolute Garbage

Not to hurt the feelings of people who love this movie, it's really funny that it makes my eyes watery, but the parts in this movie is really retarded, and the you-know-what comedy in it. There are many funny parts in this movie, and I am a BIG fan of Adel Imam's movies. But mostly you-know-what in some of his movies. Also the plays he does from many years ago, probably 10-20 years. Oh.. and the 4 boys. I think that the youngest one is cute, the one that said he was in law school and a body-building champ. He's cute, even though he's kinda bald. Oh and the breakfast part where this servant, which is a man, said that he tried his best to beat a sumo wrestler, and falls down into a bunch of jars. Really this is a funny movie, even my friends and family liked it. The first time I saw this movie is when I was on the airplane, with my mom and younger sister, on our way to see our family in Lebanon.

very funny

The movie is absolutely funny, however, to understand the comments and the jokes you have to be raised in Arabic speaking culture and understand the Egyptian background. Each and every character played his or her perfectly. Adel Imam was great as usual. Although their might be some exaggeration in few scenes, I can only see that this might be the case in all comedy movies. One scene is particularly funny, the one of the check point when Adel Imam met Talaat Zakaria. Another scene where Adel Imam showed his real talent was when he fell on the ground in reaction to the heart attack. I enjoyed watching the movie and the same goes for my wife as well.
