Sex & Nudity

  • A man and woman are seen lying naked in bed together. Any nudity is covered by either the duvet or each other. It is suggested they have just had sex.
  • A woman attempts to seduce a man (he is in bed and she has come into his room), but he resists her advances.

Violence & Gore

  • The theme of the film is murder, though the method is poisoning, so violence is limited. There are also some references to suicide.
  • There is also a scene of moderate threat where a gun is pointed at a character.

Profanity

  • 7 uses of "For God's sake" 5 uses of 'God' and 2 uses of 'Bloody'
  • One dated homophobic remark. The film as a whole clearly does not encourage such attitudes.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Alcohol is consumed.
  • There are many scenes featuring smoking in close-up. There is a sense of glorification of smoking or it being made to seem sophisticated to some extent, but the work as a whole doesn't explicitly condone tobacco use.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

    • At the opening film (and in flashback later towards the end) there is a hanging scene. The scene contains an element of execution horror that some viewers may find disturbing.
