Daleko od Szosy is described as Leszek's journey from the country to the city, and while this undoubtedly starts off as a story of a young man's desire to escape the country life he seems destined for, after episode 3 and the entrance of Ania it turns into their love story and the difficulties they face, from her families disapproval to Leszek's lack of education, their financial troubles and the difference in the social classes they both come from.
It's a beautiful story and although it's showing it's age I'd recommend this to anyone.
The only drawback is the difficulty of finding a version with English subtitles for non Polish speaking viewers.
