I would say it's a sort of french - and cheap - HEAT. And for a TV movie, that's not so bad. Marchall and Duval are convincing in their characters. Duval is the gangster and Marchall the cop. A fast paced and well built tale of the face to face between the hard boiled cop and a gang of professional armed robbers, lead by Duval. High scale robbers. The cat and mouse story between the cops and the robbers, exciting at the most. A good study of characters too.
Marchall proves once more in this story that he is the new and providential blood of the french crime movie industry. Duval contributed for his part to this kind of films in the early eighties, just before crime and gangster movies fall into disuse, killed by the proliferation of TV series. For instance remember Duval in: LE BAR DU TELEPHONE and many other TV movies.
But that's another story...
