I saw this film last year and it was amazing! The characters are so tragically funny and the whole thing is so creative. Rick is basically struggling so hard to make it in his horrible world, and you hate him and love him. You have to cheer for him because he tries so damn hard but honestly, the guy is so blind to his own limitations you root for him less and less. I love Barfly, so the Roberta Bassin character was fantastic for me. Her boyfriends were pretty amazing too! (I loved that one of them had stained tighty-whiteys on. Classic!) Where else has everyone seen this movie? I would love to know if it's playing in Seattle again.
