The sounds of "Snip, snip, Stab, bitch!" will recommence on February 3rd. And I am happy.
Sheer Genius returns to Bravo with new contestants, new egos, and new faces in the judging arena. Gone from the show are Jaclyn Smith as host and Rene Fris as mentor. These duties will be taken over by Camila Alves and Orlando Pita, respectively, and add Jonathan Antin (E!'s Fashion Emergency and Bravo's Blow Out), famed hairstylist to the stars and you have a makeover worthy to be sampled. But don't worry, we still got Judge/World Renowned Hairstylist Kim Vo to keep the newcomers in check.
Now let me be clear about some things… I watch Sheer Genius for catty putdowns and to see what people are getting away with in terms of "fashion". I am not an expert in anything dealing with hair, but I do know ugly when I see it,...

In a move that didn't surprise many in Hollywood, NBC announced yesterday that Ben Silverman, the network's entertainment co-chairman, would be leaving the company and would be replaced by Jeff Gaspin. The new honcho adds the oversight of NBC to his current duties managing the company's entertainment-focused cable networks, which include USA, Oxygen, and Bravo. In talking to EW about the future of NBC amid the executive shuffle, Gaspin said his new role will have him most involved in three areas: launching a fall season, launching Jay Leno, and moving into the new development season. Despite the network slumping into fourth place behind CBS, Fox, and ABC, Gaspin doesn't seem to be planning any big changes -- at least yet. The new entertainment chief assured fans of NBC faves like The Office, 30 Rock, and The Biggest Loser that NBC's current fall schedule won't be altered, even though it's a schedule...

Bravo said Wednesday that it has given a series pickup to a hairstyling competition tentatively titled Top Hair.
In addition, Reveille, which produces the network's hair salon-themed Blow Out, has come on board to produce the reality show, which was previously announced as a project in development under the title Heads Up.
Top Hair will take talented hairstylists from around the country and slowly narrow them down as they compete in a series of weekly challenges, starting with basic cuts and working up to full makeovers, with the winner receiving prizes including $100,000. Bravo has ordered eight one-hour episodes.
"Our critically acclaimed reality competition series are marked by talented contestants and highly creative challenges," Bravo president Lauren Zalaznick said. "It's exciting to present our viewers with another group of gifted creators -- in this case, stylists -- to showcase their craft as well as the high-stakes drama during their competitive journey."
Bravo said casting is under way for Top Hair but that the premiere date has yet to be determined.

Bravo senior vp programming and production Frances Berwick said the ramped-up development slate is an effort to build on such recent successes as Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Project Runway and Blow Out as well as "continuing to innovate (with new shows) that can really complete the schedule."...
