James Vanderbilt has come on board to write the screen adaptation of Richard Clarke's memoir of his days in the White House, Against All Enemies: Inside America's War on Terror, for Columbia Pictures. Former Sony Pictures Entertainment chairman John Calley is producing the adaptation of the New York Times best seller about Clarke's reign as terrorism czar through three presidential administrations. Said Vanderbilt: "I'm very excited to be bringing it to the big screen. It's like an 'All the President's Men' for the 21st century. I'm going to be spending some time with Richard Clarke and getting to know him. The book doesn't give a lot away about him, but this will revolve around him." Vanderbilt's other credits include The Rundown, Basic and Darkness Falls. He also has written The Guardian and Zodiac, and he just completed a production rewrite on Solace. Vanderbilt is repped by Endeavor and managed by Mike Bondesen at Fuse Entertainment.
