Can we do better ?
GeorgesAbitbol28 January 2006
In France, we call this kind of "film": a nanar. That's mean it's so ridiculous that it become really funny. Paul Hay is beautiful, he's a best of Arnold S.,Chuck N.,Steven S. They have find out the more efficient actor in this kind of role. The director try to remake "Conan the Barbarian" and he failed. Although we ask ourself what he just wanted to do. All in this film is a part of genius, an eighties Indonesian re-transcription of Samson's myth that make you laugh. We all hope Paul Hay will be governor of Sidney. 10 out 10 on Richter graduation.

Beautiful... Better than Prozac if you are in a bad mood!!! We love you Paul.

Between pity and hilarity...

One of the worst films you can see if you love cinema, but if you want to have a big laugh, just watch it! You won't be disappointed! Bad actors (the hero is truly bovine-like especially his sight and smile) ridiculous screenplay and dialogs (I saw it in french so it was even worse), special effects hilarious (the bull in foam) … The film mixes simply, the well-known story of Samson, the colonization of Indonesia by dutches, and Japanese TV-series. There are many scenes of anthology like the love scene between Samson and Delilah under the tent… incredible!!! or the fight with the sorcerer... If you like this sort of films it's a must to see! If you don't just avoid it carefully!

Bring back Jaka Sembung !
Phroggy12 June 2009
Seems only us frogs saw this movie, huh ? One point is that this movie is the director of the astonishing "Jaka Sembung" with Barry Prima, a theatrical release under the title "Le guerrier" which became a cult movie and spawned several sequels show in double-feature shows when there was still such things (some obviously of the Godfrey Ho persuasion, mixing two different footage together). Seems the director wanted to repeat this hit… But only ripped himself off, with pizza-faced Hay taking the role of Barry Prima. It's a "nanar" indeed, especially since Putra is a relatively competent director ! Gee, now I'll go check nanarland to see if they reviewed this one
