O'Brien deserved better.

"Maggie" is a pilot for a TV series that the networks rejected. And, after seeing it on YouTube recently, I think I can understand why. There already were some similar shows (such as "Meet Corliss Archer") and the show was anything but subtle. It's a shame really, as Margaret O'Brien was a very good child actress...but here they simply gave her bad material.

Maggie (O'Brien) is a super-emotional 17 year-old who goes through life as if she's acting on stage. And, because of this, she often over-acts and is a bit annoying. To make it worse, the laugh track is invasive. Overall, an interesting experiment that clearly failed. I just wish O'Brien had been given a better chance and better writing.
