Very Powerful Well Done
JRBONO27 June 2005
Just saw this at the Hideout Theatre in Austin Texas. A very powerful movie that explores the meaning of forgiveness and revenge. Heading out to find book as based on true story. Every Mexican American should see it...everyone who wishes to understand the roots of immigration needs to see this movie. Based on a book entitled Por unos elotes by Eddie Howell. (this has now been retitled as the Harvest of Redemption and is being released in August by AuthorBooks). Harvest is one of those movies that spans about 100 years and highlights the abuses that people who had immigrated here from Mexico and depended on working in Farms and ranches to support their families. It also delves into how the migrant farm worker were mistreated by more middle class Mexican American families
