Sunrise RISES again !!
Hysteria2825 September 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was not such a bad follow up to the Paul Thomas's Debbie Does Dallas, the revenge. However the female star line up is not the best. My favourites in this movie had to be Rebecca Love and Sunrise Adams. They performed at the best in comparison. Dee and Nicole Sheridan did not impress me.

SPOILERS------------ This time round the group of cheerleaders are experiencing a divide and the girls of Latin origin are subjected to violent actions in order to get them out of the team. Nicole Sheridan even seduces Voodoo to breck up his relationship with one of the other girls. Soon Sunrise learns about this divide that is happening through 2 girls that have it on with Randy. She then decides hat is time for pay back which leads to a female gang bang in the climax.

This time round there is more of a plot to chew on however the camera tended to loose focus on a few occasions and the lighting was bad. There is a good scene with sunrise and randy. He tells her to masturbate before he gives her a good pounding. Chris Cannon has an enjoyable scene with Rebecca Love and Natasha Dolling.

Over all not a bad movie. Well worth the watch.

Truly awful

I'm not sure what Vivid Video meant by "East vs. West" in the title, but this sad excuse for a cash-in by the label and its wonder boy Paul Thomas is bad beyond belief.

The competition in the film is actually between Latinas and "Whites", thanks to a dismal, race-baiting screenplay by David Stanley. Violence escalates between the two ethnic factions of cheerleaders, with Voodoo of all people cast as the Chicano scoundrel who is the source of most friction (pun sort of intended).

After a prolog, bulk of the action takes place "One Year Later", after creep Diego (played by Voodoo) has switched schools and is now playing with the white boys for even creepier Coach Austin, played by Randy Spears as a serial sexual abuser. Antics dreamed up by Stanley don't play very well in the current MeToo age, if they ever played well back in the day either.

Pranks escalate to violence, clashing with the supposedly lighthearted nature of these mindless "Debbie" movies, the success of which has never impressed me (I didn't even like the first one way back when). Sunrise Adams is the contract girl in the title role, bringing her big boobs and sunny disposition to what amounts to a nothing part as head cheerleader.

The great Ann Marie Rios is cast as a peacemaker, but none of the story or sex scenes pass muster, a definite off-day for PT and his crew. Considering some greats like Dee (totally wasted here), Olivia O'Lovely and softcore favorites (see: Fred Olen Ray B-movies of the era) Nicole Sheridan and Rebecca Love tnhis should have been infinitely better.
