It's actually a mirror copy of a film attributed to Segundo de Chomón as "Les Blocs magiques" ("Magic Bricks"), which is dated 1908. "Japonaiseries", though with faded (and partial?) stencil coloring, is available in good definition at BFI YouTube channel. "Les Blocs magiques" has a warmer and richer palette, yet the image is unsharp and darkened. Anyway, it's the same film existing in two copies, one of which is flipped. It's curious that a old mess like this was not cleared up well into 21st century, so I take privilege to do it here. Maybe some later research will single out the right name, date and director.
