the movie tells the story of the Israeli refuseniks movement and some of its protagonists. cinematic ally the movie is a very straight-forward crafty movie, but that passes back the stress to the interviews with the refuseniks. you may say, that the movie is one-sided and gives only the refuseniks side and not their opponents in Israel, and that surely is true, BUT: first i generally prefer movies that show you openly the side they're on. and second: there has been so much arguing about this movement but in Europe you very rarely saw/read an interview with one of them, so it helps to understand their decision. what ever you may think of it, first you have to know their reasons why they did, what they did. in that sense this movie is more a kind of discursive intervention than an try to deal with "what really happened".

the film shows honest testimonials of brave soldiers who are no longer part of the occupation. they have chosen to refuse to serve in the occupied territories and each of them pays a personal price for it. every war every country has there braves who goes against the system. they are those braves. the film gives an other perspective on the occupation this time from the Israeli soldiers pov. now days this issue is "boiling" in Israel and a lot of protest against the organization "breaking the silence" who is "promoting" against the occupation by showing testimonials of soldiers doing horrible actions in the occupied territories.
