Poor J. P. (on "Grabuge !")
dsjcmarquet18 October 2006
I have mixed emotions about this flick. On one hand, it's very pleasant to see that Mocky still enjoys his job, that the actors obviously have a good time, and that the plot tries its best. On the other hand, it's a pity to watch such poor means used for a film, obviously rented costumes, and too much information at once due to lack of film rolls and shooting time. Still, it has an honest crime story plot, with a delightful (and sooo rare nowadays...) politically incorrect edge to it, some of the lines are very funny, and it's not three-hour long. And if Mocky could raise more money to create, perhaps he wouldn't be forced to show his films almost only in his own theater... that's worth a six to me...

Police story: falsification of papers, murder
gchavez21 September 2005
This was a real disappointment. The acting looked and felt fake. Some of the actors spoke as if they were on stage exaggerating the movements and the voices. Terrible costumes. The chief of police looks like he just came back form a North Pole expedition. Charles Berling's character doesn't change clothes at all even though the story happens during several days. The script was bad, the story got nowhere and had a strange ending, and the picture was like a bad copy. There were several scenes that were out of focus. There are several scenes where they are dancing and clapping and the claps are out of rhythm, you cannot hear the music, and in one a guitarist is playing the guitar but he is not playing at all the music you are hearing; you cannot stop thinking they are just amateurs filming in the garage.

Don't loose your time and money. Avoid it at all costs.
