Puzzle games are not normally my forte however Sega's 'Columns' much like 'Tetris' was quite the exception. Unlike the earlier Nintendo puzzle game, 'Columns' uses jewels as opposed to blocks to score points. I was first introduced to this game by my mother, who was an avid fan of it back in the '90's and today I still hold very fond memories of it. The soundtrack fits the game excellently too. Two spin offs were made, 'Columns II - The Voyage Through Time' ( which was released only in arcades ) and 'Columns III' - The Revenge Of Columns' ( which was released for the Sega Mega Drive in Japan only ). The first game was also ported to the Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear but the Mega Drive version is the best in my opinion. Grand stuff.
