Google has just released its Year in Search Data — including the most searched TV shows of 2017. Its no surprise that uber-popular series Stranger Things, which debuted its second season this year, came out top. But amazingly, Game of Thrones only came in fourth after web series-turned Netflix original 13 Reasons Why in second and, wait for it, Big Brother Brasil in third. Iron Fist came in fifth, Bigg Boss — an Indian reality show — came in sixth, Riverdale was in seventh, and American Gods in eighth. The Kapil Sharma Show — another Indian series, this time a stand-up comedy talk...read more...

After being evicted from the Bigg Boss House, one of the first things Rajasthani Kalbelia dancer Gulabo Sapera did was to indulge in defamation and slander towards Pooja Misrra.
Gulabo was quoted saying, “She (Pooja) smokes a lot. So, she went into the smoking zone smoked a cigarette and something else too. I am sure she is on drugs! And then she started behaving like a mad person, broke the mop and all.”
In an interview, Gulabo added, “Pooja would often ask me for incense sticks which I never refused to share until I got to know what she used it for. Honestly, I couldn’t believe when I saw her taking a lit incense stick to the washroom. What on earth will people do with a lit stick in the washroom? I’m sure she would either eat the remains or snort it. Uske baad toh woh badal jaati thi.

Lucky lucky me, I got a chance to sit down once again with Raj and Pablo at the Iifa Weekend in Toronto. What did the fabulous guys have to say about the Iifa Awards Green Carpet?
Hello again Raj and Pablo, wonderful getting a chance to chat with you again. Ok, so you have both been to many Iifa Weekends in the past, how does Iifa 2011 in Toronto stack up?
This has actually been the most successful Iifa Awards yet!
Really? How so?
Financially it has been amazing, but more than that the support and love from the South Asian community here in Toronto is overwhelming. The Canadian government as well has been extremely accommodating, especially premiere Dalton McGuinty. We have never seen a stadium that big filled to capacity, the popularity of Bollywood here is incredible. It is clear that Hindi cinema is getting recognition in the West, from Indians and non-Indians alike.

Danny Dyer has become the byword for low-budget, no-quality Brit-trash cinema, but beneath the cockney swagger there's a decent actor struggling to get out. Stuart Heritage comes to the rescue
Last Tuesday saw the premiere of a new Danny Dyer film, Basement (the Daily Mail reported that the most glamorous guest at the event was someone who came third on Big Brother in 2006). Admittedly a new Dyer film is not really news, given that he knocks them out with such exhausting frequency that he makes Nicolas Cage look like Jd Salinger. In fact, he's got another one, The Last Seven, coming out next week. By the end of the year, Dyer will have starred in 20 films since 2004, with enough spare time to squeeze in 11 TV shows, two plays, a Grand Theft Auto game, countless radio commercials for everything from UKTV Gold to Exchange & Mart, his online store (where you can...

American idol star Fantasia Barrino has tried to commit suicide, after being accused of filming a sex tape with a married man.
The 26 year old singer, who won the third series of Idol, was named as the ‘other woman’ in a divorce case between Antwaun and Paula Cook. Paula claimed that Fantasia had made at least one sex tape with her husband and had even phoned her to taunt:
“He don’t want you. Maybe the next time that you get a husband, you’ll know how to keep him.”
After the star was hospitalised on Monday, having overdosed on a combination of aspirin and sleeping pills, her manager Brian Dickens insisted that Fantasia thought Cook’s marriage was over. He added:
“Fantasia is heartbroken and is sorry for any pain she may have caused.”
Speaking from the hospital, her dad Joseph Barrino said she was “doing fine.”

There have been instances in the past where Bollywood filmmakers have requested their fellow colleagues to give them a required film title, which they might have rights for. However, what Madhur has done is definitely a first. Madhur Bhandarkar, the new age realistic director, of late has been hunting for a single word title for his next film that stars Kareena Kapoor. And the title that he was looking at was Heroine. As luck would have it, the said title was already booked by Guddu Dhanoa, who has earlier made films like Deewana, Big Brother, Kismat, Bichhoo, Elaan etc. Madhur, instead of hitting upon a roadblock, hit upon a novel solution by deciding to donate Rs. 1 lakh to Guddu Dhanoa's charity and, thus became the owner of the title! Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Madhur said, "It was really nice of Guddu to have given the title to me. But...

Former Coronation Street actor Danny Young has admitted that he’d like Danniella Westbrook to win this year’s series of Dancing On Ice.
Young was eliminated from the ITV ice skating show last night and while Hayley Tamaddon is currently bookies favourite to win, Danny says he’d prefer it if Danniella scooped the title.
Speaking on This Morning Danny said:
“You become so close to everyone, but what I love about Danniella is what she stands for.
“She took a couple of knocks, but she is a fighter. She has faced a lot in a her life and has come back. I like that in a person.”
He added: “I think with this show, as we saw last night, it is not the person who you always think is going to go through, that does.”
Maybe there is more truth to these rumours than we thought!

Danny Young has become the latest celebrity to be voted off ITV’s Dancing On Ice.
After performing during the dreaded props week and being forced to skate with a bowler hat, Danny found himself in the bottom two with Hollyoaks actor Kieron Richardson.
Danny performed his first routine flawlessly but in the skate off had a few mishaps with his prop and ended the performance very awkwardly. As a result of these mistakes, only judge Karen Barber voted to save the former Coronation Street actor and so Kieron Richardson lives to skate another week.
After hearing that he was going home Danny said:
“I’ve had the most amazing time… Guys, I wish you all the best. Danniella, you know I love you and I wish you all the best. Thanks to the judges, thanks to everyone who voted me.”

On Sunday night’s Dancing On Ice, Danny Young was seen being coached by his boxing dad for his Rocky themed routine. It looked like quite a heartfelt moment, full of family bonding but the scenes have prompted complaints to ITV after some suggest that Danny’s dad isn’t quite as nice as he seems.
It turns out that Jack Young was jailed back in 1997 for killing 42 year old David Lilley in a bar room brawl. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 21 months in prison.
A friend of David’s family told The Sun: “They’re amazed he was allowed on like that.”

Dr Hilary Jones has become the sixth celebrity to be voted off ITV’s Dancing On Ice.
It was a foregone conclusion that Dr J would leave as soon as he ended up in the bottom two. The judges weren’t likely to save him after Emma Bunton previously blasted:
“The competition can’t start until you leave!”
The TV medic found himself in the skate-off alongside former Corrie actor Danny Young. Danny skated competently as always, perhaps he lacked a bit of personality but he still beat Dr Jones hands down.
The judges were unanimous in their decision to save Danny and on hearing the news Hilary said:
“It’s been terrific fun. I loved being part of it all and I love all the guys I’ve skated with. It’s a wonderful, wonderful show!”

Danny Jones has failed to make the semi finals of Popstar Operastar.
After finding himself in the bottom two for the second week running, Danny was up against Marcella Detroit for a place on next week’s show.
The two singers split the panel, with Meat Loaf and Rolando voting to save Mc Fly’s Danny while Katherine and Lawrence voted for Marcella. The result of the public vote was then consulted, and Alan Titchmarsh revealed that Marcella had more public support, therefore sending Danny home.

There has to be one in every town. An awful singer who gets angry when they get told how rubbish they are!
Tonight’s weirdo was Jared Norrell. He gave an awful version of “Amazing Grace” and we’re pretty sure that he was on something illegal too. Kara said, “Honey, it sounds like a lawnmower.” Unfortunately, Jared kept going and Randy was forced to call for the security guards.
“I can’t leave,” Norrell said defiantly. “I cannot leave!” Two guards eventually ushered him around the corner, the judges heard a scuffle outside and suddenly Norrell was wrestled to the ground by a group of guards trying to restrain him.
At which point, Cowell turned to his fellow judges saying: ‘So, yes or no.’ Always the clown Mr Cowell!

“With opera, you’ve got to sing from your eyes and your nose – it’s like learning to sing again.”
Danny also warned people not underestimate his mentor and coach, Katherine Jenkins.
“She’s gorgeous.” he smiles. “She’s such a nice girl. But Katherine’s a perfectionist and a task master. You wouldn’t mess about with her.”

Singing legend Jimmy Osmond has admitted that his famous brothers persuaded him to take part in ITV’s Popstar to Operastar.
Jimmy revealed:
“I came over here to meet the producers and they said, ‘just for fun, go and vocalise with our coach.’ It would never have crossed my mind that I could hit a big note, but I did and the coach said, ‘that’s cool’.

Danny Jones has signed up for ITV’s newest talent series Popstar to Opera Star and revealed that his McFly bandmates encouraged him to take part.
On the boy’s reaction to the offer Danny said:
“This offer came through, and all the boys said, ‘do it, do it, do it!’
We get asked to do all sorts of TV shows, and to be honest most of them are rubbish. But this is different. In this show, you’re really learning something. It’s very exciting. We don’t just sit in the jungle eating kangaroo’s private parts. This requires talent!”

Danny Dyer has said that he doesn’t understand why hard man Vinnie Jones went into the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house.
Writing in his weekly column for Zoo magazine, The ‘Dead Man Running’ actor said:
“He’s a cut above the others in fame terms – mind you, that’s not hard, you could put the Chuckle Brothers in and they’d be a cut above everyone else.”
Maybe the £500,000 fee had something to do with it Danny!

Doghouse actor Danny Dyer has revealed that he turned down the chance to appear on Channel 4’s Celebrity Big Brother.
Dyer admitted that he was offered £200,000 to do the show, but refused to go in as he feared it would ’screw up’ his career.
Danny wrote in his column for Zoo magazine:
“Last year, Celebrity Big Brother offered me £200k to go into the house. There was no f**king way I was doing it. It’s not worth the aggro. Plus, by the time I’d paid the taxman and my agent, I’d only have seen half the cash!”
He added: “It would purely be a money-making move, but you risk screwing up your career and you get those f**king Z-listers dissecting your personality on that Little Brother show. Plus, the producers would make me Mr Sweary.”

Are you a 19-20 year old girl (or at least look like one)? Know a thing or two about Bollywood? Want to make it big in the tinsel world? And believe that making a debut opposite Adhyayan Suman would be quite cool? Well, then here is an opportunity coming your way. Director Guddu Dhanoa, who has made a career out of making full on 'masala' action fare (Ziddi, Salakhein, Bichhoo, Elaan), is now changing tracks and making an out and out romantic love story. For this movie which stars Adhyayan Suman in the lead, he is scouting for a girl who fits the aforementioned criteria. "For my next film Deewana Must Die, I am in lookout of a completely fresh face. I don't want someone who has already acted in a film", says Guddu Dhanoa whose last film was action packed Big Brother that featured Sunny Deol in the lead.

Role Models
Starring Paul Rudd, Seann William Scott, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse
Directed by David Wain
Rated R
Exactly how hard should slacker comedies try, anyway? Or should they even try at all?
The best of the bunch tend to come from the Judd Apatow factory these days, but there have been others over the past few years that aren’t as successful, commercially or critically. Whether that's a lack of pedigree or inspiration, the proof is in the pudding. Straddling the fence is Role Models, which features a few faces from the Apatow movies but doesn’t really have that secret ingredient that, well, makes the pudding, I guess.
Danny (Paul Rudd) and Wheeler (Seann William Scott) work event promotions for Minotaur energy drink. After a particularly dismal effort at a high school at which they parked illegally, they try to extract their Minotaur mobile from a tow truck, which leads to major property damage.

Dale gave Stu a bit of a pummelling in last week's Big Brother-themed Face Off, bagging 143 votes to his rival's 68. If only Stu had bothered to shave, eh? Rex also deserves an honourable mention for managing to nab 18 votes - quite impressive considering he wasn't actually nominated! Anyway, this week's Face Off is a duel between two members of the nation's favourite cheeky chappy pop band. Can you forgive us for asking you to choose between them?
