Laurence Anyways I do have a copy of this one and it's a film that just might make my top ten this year. I saw it at the Cannes Film Festival last year and it served as my introduction to writer/director Xavier Dolan and having now seen all four of his feature films I'd definitely say this is his best. I really hope more people find the opportunity to see not only this film, but everything else he has to offer.
Stalag 17 I can't remember when I watched Billy Wilder's Stalag 17, but I enjoyed it very much and would love to return to this black comedy meets action film centered in a WWII Pow camp. Starring the likes of William Holden and Otto Preminger, this flick won Holden the Best Actor Oscar in 1954 and is one I would recommend you check out. I don't have any details on this Blu-ray,...

If you're not into niche genre stuff like indie slasher films, Asian action flicks and ridiculously over-the-top monster movies then it's likely that you haven't even heard of the Fantasia Film Festival. For close to three full weeks this international festival descends upon the city of Montreal like a tidal wave of cinematic weirdness. The titles alone speak a thousand words: "Big Ass Spider!," "Zombie Hunter," "Curse of Chucky," "Drug War" etc. So when a movie like Sean Ellis' "Metro Manila" parachutes its way into the program, it almost feels like taking the first breaths of oxygen after a plastic bag's been lifted. Maybe it's the festival widening its range to include the sub-genres of drama, or it could be that they've succumbed to the temptation of premiering the 2013 Sundance Audience Award winner in Canada. Whatever the reason is, bless them for it."Metro Manila" zeros in on an impoverished couple,...

Today we came across this adorable (if one can put such epithet together in the same sentence as ‘a zombie film’) zombie horror short, called Dead Friends, and directed by Stephen W. Martin. You might say it’s a holiday short, because the main character carries an Easter Bunny stuffed animal around with her. Here, have a look: The story follows a bullied little girl who brings a little boy back from the dead. At the nine minute mark, you’ll see one of the best kid psycho faces ever! Synopsis: Nine year old Lola Turtle’s only companion is her treasured and tattered stuffed bunny, Mister Wimperbottom…...

2012 might have slunk away ungraciously, but that doesn't mean that its presence can't still be felt. This is especially true when it comes to one of last year's least appealing movie trends – the gradual Asylumification of mainstream cinema. You know the sort of thing; tiresomely schlocky zero-expectation genre flicks that are made on the cheap and exist solely to trade on a kitschy title. Strippers v Werewolves. Cockneys v Zombies. Abraham Lincoln: Zombie Hunter. Fine if you stumble upon them on TV when you're drunk at 2am; less so if you're paying in full for a cinema ticket.

We're not going to make the cliché Canadian joke here. No Mackenzie Brothers reference or hosers or eh? We're not even going to ask if you're elbow deep in Tim Horton's donuts. We've just got a request from filmmaker Casey Walker ... go see A Little Bit Zombie.
Judging by the hilarious trailer for the film, which was produced and directed by Walker, A Little Bit Zombie might be this year's Tucker and Dale Versus Evil or The Cottage. This looks like a horror-comedy that nails it. It even has a Dead Alive feel to it. We get nothing but good vibes from what we've seen so far.
After selling out loads of festival screenings A Little Bit Zombie is making its theatrical debut May 17 on 20 screens across Canada. A wider release through Landmark Cinemas is promised if the film initially performs well. And that's where you can help. If you're...

Dana Fredsti is a writer and an actress with a background in theatrical sword-fighting. She has appeared in Army of Darkness and her love of zombies has resulted in Plague Town, a zombie novel that was released earlier this month. We recently had a chance to ask her some questions, and learned more about the inspiration for the novel, working on Army of Darkness, and who she’d want on her zombie survival team.
Dana and Titan Books are also giving readers a chance to participate in the Plague Town Pandemic Tour, where the winner will receive a signed copy of the book and will have a character named after them in the next novel in the series:

We’ve got the new poster for A Little Bit Zombie, the upcoming zombie comedy from Casey Walker. The poster was designed from Tom Hodge, who you should know from his poster designs for Hobo With a Shotgun and The Innkeepers.
Tom Hodge had the following to say about the new poster: “This was the first time i got to really swing my design bat at comedy. After discussing some ideas with Casey, we both seemed to be coming from the same direction – we really wanted the poster to be every bit as visually entertaining as the film is funny, by creating something that was epic, totally Ott for the subject matter.
So this poster design really came to be a love letter to the whole fantasy art school of the 70′s and such great artists who inspired me growing up, like Frank Frazetta, Boris Vallejo and John Bolton.

Getting married is tough. Getting married after you’ve been bitten by a zombie mosquito is tougher. Yes, I said it. A zombie mosquito. Or a mosquito that has been zombie-fied. Or something like that. What am I, a mosquito zombie expert? Anyways, check out the full trailer for Casey Walker’s “A Little Bit Zombie” (Todd posted a teaser for it last year), a horror-comedy that actually looks funny. Not so sure about the zombie portion of the film, though, since most of that is played for laughs. The downside of being a zombie? Well, it’s that whole decaying and potentially eating your fiancee’s delicious brains part. The upside? Getting hit in the gonads by car doors no longer hurt. Much. Infected by a virus during his bachelor party, a mild mannered Hr manager attempts to fulfill his overwhelming desire for brains and avoid Max, the obsessed...

If you’re the kind of TV addict who’s interested in how TV shows are made and unmade, then the behind-the-scenes story of The Walking Dead is almost relentlessly fascinating. The zombie-apocalypse series is based on a great graphic-novel series, but last year’s six-episode first season featured massive plot departures from the comics — despite the fact that Dead co-creator and geek demi-god Robert Kirkman is prominently involved in the TV series. Dead is an unusually lavish production, featuring gloriously grotesque undead makeup — a testament to AMC’s ongoing willingness to push the visual aesthetics of television — but that...

Zombies and comedies — they go together like peanut butter and brains, don’t they? Well, for some of us, anyway. Although we’ve had our fair share of humorous motion pictures centered around the adventures of the living dead, that hasn’t stopped aspiring filmmakers from tackling the subject matter over and over again. Enter director Casey Walker’s “A Little Bit Zombie”, a flick about a guy who gets infected with a nasty little virus while attending his bachelor party. All sorts of hilarity should ensue. Whether it does or not remains to be seen. However, if the embedded trailer is any indication, Walker seems to be heading in the right direction with the material. Here’s the official plot synopsis: Infected by a virus during his bachelor party, a mild mannered Hr manager attempts to fulfill his overwhelming desire for brains and avoid Max, the obsessed Zombie Hunter hot on his trail.

Before we begin, let's provide a bit of background for those just tuning in to the show.
For the uninitiated, W13 is a top secret facility in South Dakota which houses rare and dangerous artifacts, such as Lewis Carroll's looking glass, Robin Hood's crossbow, and Rick Santorum's wet naps.
Secret Service Agents Myka Bering (Joanne Kelly) and Pete Lattimer (Eddie McClintock) are assigned to retrieve the supernatural items, with help from Warehouse director Mrs. Frederic (Cch Pounder), agent-in-charge Artie (Saul Rubinek), and hot flame-haired tech geek Claudia (Allison Scagliotti).
This season also sees the debut of new agent Steve Jinks (Aaron Ashmore), who has the ability to tell when someone is lying, and is the first recurring gay character on Syfy since Caprica's Sam Adama.
This week's episode of Warehouse 13 includes an appearance from Eureka's adorkable Douglas Fargo (Neil Grayston), and Steve relegated to the "B" story,...

While checking out Attack of The Show, the trailer for the newest Zombie hunter game Call of the Dead played, and it was too bad ass not to share.
A "dream team" of zombie hunters are dropped into a mysterious, icy Siberian island to fight an onslaught of rabid zombies. Possible characters that players can choose to be are Sarah Michelle Gellar, Robert Englund, Michael Rooker, and Danny Trejo. Zombie film directing legend George Romero also makes a cameo in the game.
“Our latest zombie creation, Call of the Dead, is unreal,” said Treyarch head Mark Lamia, who discussed the game developers expectations. “We set out to create an exciting new zombie experience for fans of the genre that takes Zombies to an insane new level.”
Check out the awesome teaser below and enjoy the "undead" carnage!

Grade: B
While not exactly Emmy worthy this is the strongest of the three CW fantasy scripts and thus the most likely show to get the post-Vampire Diaries slot next fall. It follows Emo zombie lawyer Jenna in denial trying to be human in a relationship with a human whose father is a zombie hunter. He recently discovered his father is a zombie hunter but isn't aware Jenna is a zombie. There's a Zombie Hunter working for the government who keeps hunting the zombies throughout the pilot -through their facebook friends lists! It's more True Blood than Vampire Diaries in its setting and tone. It is very different from The Walking Dead. Zombies can transform from human form into full decay form at will and there are zombie parties where they kidnap humans and eat them while dancing to Michael Jackson's thriller. Jenna's parents and sister are also Zombies...

Capcom released a slew of zombie-related shooters for the Wii last year: Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop, House of the Dead: Overkill, and lastly, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, which only sold 16,000 copies after three weeks.
In a recent interview with French gamesite GameKult, Antoine Seux, General Director of Capcom France, talked about the company's difficulties with the console, saying that development for "the Wii was very difficult, with an oversupply [of games] and a gamer market that has radically changed." Seux claimed that "[So-called "gamer's games"] are selling less and less on the console." (Hint to get sales going: perhaps add some "undead workout" challenges? You're welcome, Capcom.)
Seux continued with Capcom's woes:
One feels that there is a problem very clear on this style of game on the Wii, where gamers have obviously moved on. Resident Evil 4 on Wii worked well, but [it was released] when the market had nothing! The customer...

As someone who tends to favor the low-budget, the twisted, and the purposely bizarre, it’s really no surprise that this endless wave of violent, over-the-top action currently streaming out of Japan amuses me to no end. It honestly doesn’t matter how trashy, sleazy, or generally unpleasant the picture may be — all I need is an abundance of intentionally strange set pieces punctuated with the sort of copious bloodletting that would greatly disturb the well-adjusted, socially productive members of society. Story, characterization, and a multi-tiered plot are nice things to have, but they aren’t necessarily required. I’m guess I’m just shallow like that. An organic sense of the absurd is essential to enjoying something as slipshod and low-budget as Kenichi Fujiwara’s goofy 2008 undead actioner “Zombie Hunter Rika” (aka “High School Girl Rika: Zombie Hunter”), a film that pulls absolutely no punches when it comes to wanton violence and stupidity.
