Relaxing, innocent drama
jorgejackass26 March 2009
I saw this today at a critics screening for Tijuana, I was expecting a children's movie, but I can't imagine children watching this film, it takes patience and innocence to go through it seriously. Its a slow, bright, cute film about a dealing with small problems at a young age. There isn't much to say: The acting is above average, the whole asthetic is rustic but enchanting, the characters are well developed, but the script is just a little dull. You will get into the story but you'll be drifting in and out at times. Still this is a very good-looking, feel-good film, worth a watch (especially for young women).

Quiet but enjoyable film

The other day I was watching this film broadcast by French satellite channel TV5. And I had really enjoyed the whole time screening, the beautiful views of camera at both exterior and interior takes accompanied by suitable music chores. But most of it the performance of the child actor Alba Gaïa Kraghede Bellugi, in that time some 10 years old girl, the same age as the part she is playing. Also the other roles of father, mother, servant and the young man are well cast. A film does not need to contain a car chasing, explosions and glass breaking to keep the audience attentive.
