People Seemed To Blind Themselves With Cosmetic Products A Lot
boblipton22 August 2019
My mother was a peroxide blonde in the days when that was a common thing to do. if it isn't still, and I never heard of anyone blinding themselves.... although we did scream a lot when she used the peroxide to sterilize the cuts and scrapes we got into as children.

Nonetheless, this seems to be the third silent movie I've seen this summer of women who blind themselves with cosmetic products, only to be cured when a brilliant ophthalmologist treats them, usually by telling them to open their eyes. Here, it's Cécile Didier who goes blind, and Dr.Damorès who cures her. They are in love, but too shy to say so.

One of the things I noticed about this Eclair version of the story is that the set decorations seem to be better than in the other production companies' version. Otherwise, they're much the same. It's a miracle we haven't died out.
