A Two Man & One Dog Army
boblipton29 May 2015
George Larkin, William Hayes and Fearless the Dog (its his second movie and he's already given top billing and cried "The Famous Police Dog Star") defeat a German army by themselves. They next take French Leave with a couple of French farm girls. However, Armistice gets in the way and they head back to the US. When the girls try to follow them, there's a Russian spy and her gang in their way.

The success of Rin-Tin-Tin had made everyone yearn for a German Shepherd star, and producer Joe Rock produced twelve "Fearless" shorts for ambitious Gower Gulch production house Chesterfield. Joe had started as a screen comic and comedy producer, so the shorts tended to be well over-the-top -- in this one, Fearless follows the gang abducting the girls; they are in a car that looks to be going about forty miles and hour, but Fearless keeps up easily. However, except for these absurdities, the entire thing is played absolutely straight.
