Lou has a new job selling aluminum cookware. He demonstrates his pots and pans with a new gimmick- cooking a delicious dinner for them in the pots and pans. Lou will begin by preparing a nice meal for Mr. Fields and guests at the apartment house. From Mr. Bacciagalupe's vegetable cart, Lou tricks him out of some tomatoes. They prepare a live duck for dinner, leading to their classic "Getting Down Off a Duck's Back" routine. When Lou can't bring himself to kill it, Mr. Fields phones for hired assassin Scarpuss (gangster character actor Anthony Caruso). He holds a special place for ducks, even having a pet duck, and threatens to kill them if they harm the duck. Mr. Fields has a chicken he's been saving in his fridge and offers it to Lou for the dinner. Lou invites Hillary as a sixth guest. As he sets out to prepare the meal, his lack of cooking knowledge is apparent. While cooking, he continues to interact with "Albert", now his pet duck, in the sink. Lou begins making dressing, but the page from the recipe book turns when he isn't looking and he continues with an entirely different recipe- adding yeast. His side dish of spaghetti doesn't promise to be any better, and he mistakes a bar of soap for Parmesan cheese he is grating. Conversation at the table 'bubbles' over. Meanwhile, in the kitchen, problems with the chicken have to be seen to be believed. Indeed, this may be a meal to remember.
