Really enjoyed this episode. Don't remember it from my childhood. Gives Lurch a standout part!! He is quite the character.

It was a joy to watch veteran actor Ellen Corby as Lurch's mother. I watched this episode as a child and it was fun to see what Lurch's mom looked like and, as an adult, it was fun to watch Grandma Walton-to-be boss the gigantic Ted Cassidy around. Also, we get to see the "cottage" on their grounds -- I didn't know they had one!
