The haunting music used on two occasions is an excerpt of Chopin's Impromptu #4 In C Sharp Minor, Op. 66, CT 46, Fantaisie-Impromptu.
A version of this story was also presented on The Twilight Zone (1959): An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge (1964), an edited version of the French short film Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge (1961).
Near the end of WWI, a popular song was created from the Chopin piece played in this film. The song was "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows" and is ironically about a perpetual dreamer.
