This episode takes place in 1916.
Hume Cronyn's wife, Jessica Tandy, was in the previous episode, The Canary Sedan.
The American accents do jar. And the type of horse carriage looks so Western. As for "Western", the exterior shot of the train shows a British Great Western Railway train approaching the camera. With the class of locomotive pulling the train having been introduced in 1903, at least it fits in with the 1916 date for when the events were supposed to have happened. The train interior shots did not look very British, Along with "Honor Roll", Hitchcock's use of "stockade" is again pure Americanese.
