As of this point in the series, the show probably should've been put out to pasture, because after Mike and Gloria left for good, there was no turning back, and the writing suffered because of it. With that being said, this certainly isn't a bad episode, and the story was fairly original; Barney(Allan Melvin)is bummed that his wife Blanche(Estelle Parsons)left him for an exterminator, which leads to a few "bug" references, some intentional and some not. Since Barney's depression is bringing everyone down, Archie fixes up his friend with his waitress "Boom Boom", played by Gloria Leroy, and she reluctantly agrees. Nothing of much consequence happens, and even though the couple eventually get back together, there were a few laughs, although not that much. I think most great episodes ended in 1976, as the show lost steam, and several episodes were seriously lacking. I would insist that you skip any episode with Stephanie(not in this episode), and when Archie owns the bar. You might get lucky with a good story here or there, but it's sad to see what this great show has become after many superb seasons.
