100th Episode of the series.
This episode was broadcast with a series of outtakes at its end, in honor of the 100th episode of the series.
The title is taken from the Bible, which, in the New International Version, declares in Proverbs Chapter 16 verse 18 that "Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall." The imagery is also consonant with the fate of Lucifer/Satan, particularly as portrayed in Milton's "Paradise Lost".
Andromeda informed Beka she has DNA matches with three former crew members, Gaheris Rhade, Telemachus Rhade, and Tyr Anazzazi. However in the first episode when the mission to Hephaestus is revealed to be a trap of the Nietzsheans Gaheris recommends to Dylan that he (Rhade) and all Nietzschean crew members be confined in case there are traitors on board, meaning there should have been at least a few other Nietzscheans on board at the Battle of Hephaestus that should be on that list Andromeda also states Tyr's son Tamerlane shares DNA with Beka (and scientifically speaking he would as both of his parents would carry her DNA) but that would mean Tamerlane could never be the Genetic Reincarnation of Drago Museveni as Drago (Peter) would not carry Beka's DNA
There is also a literal meaning: the Nietzschean Pride before the fall.
