"You're a twisted old man!" "I'm a scientist!" "You're a monster!" Warning: Spoilers
I like the attempt at a little eerie camera lore at the opening campfire scene. How come Betty Ann always had to put things so dramatically? "It's like a ghost becoming real..." Pff, no it's not! Who cares - so anyway, I loved the beyond bizarre performance of Ethan Tobman who I think just plain makes this episode a great little one as Peter Kirlan the Third who is spooky because of his sleepy almost intoxicated expressions, electrified-looking funky hairdo, but mainly due to the effeminate far-out way in which he says everything! He looked like someone you'd get in a Tim Burton movie, and I thought he was really hilarious rather than creepy at all, but that's just me. I found his appearance and manner oddly appealing and fascinating, he was pretty cute too in a freaky androgynous sort of way! He may have thrown like a girl, but the young actor did a great job, and he's an effective little villain for the episode. It's interesting how he starts out in the story a bit decrepit and unhealthy-looking and becomes stronger as "Danny" breaks out in pimples and her parents become hysterically tired and grouchy oldsters as the evil energy transferring technology begins to take debilitating effect and suck the very life out of them! It makes me laugh how the parents were so casually accepting of such an extraordinary situation, writing it off as "Just the years catching up with them", and also how they were wearing old people clothes, like they'd already packed them just in case this ever happened on one of their family vacations! Parents were always so damn clueless on this show.. The title is a tad misleading as no souls are ever captured, only precious youth and vigour. I like the surprisingly elaborate scene where Peter presses a red button in his bedroom that switches everything around and reveals that it's actually a mad scientist style laboratory! It was an extremely strange touch having the character clearly having a 'thing' for the heroic girl in question, and the part where he gets way too close to her face and just stares is so awkwardly weird! And at the end when it's revealed that all along he's been just a tired old man who's merely been taking on the appearance of an eccentric young man by stealing the youth(and lives!) of others for almost a century. I liked what the character says to Danny as she leaves, it's quite a moving sombre little moment and he redeems himself a little, although there certainly wasn't any happy ending for him at all. He finally stopped calling her Danielle. It's a great episode, always liked this one. And it's yet more proof that true childhood magic is something that never grows old... Now say cheese!

Warning: Spoilers
This one I remembered like it was yesterday from watching it again after years. Never forgot it. It was one of my favourites growing up. Watching it again I still feel the same. I really enjoyed it. The characters we're enjoyable and the story was rather good. Heading out for a family outing can sure turn your life upside down and they soon find out

The young kid I found did his job good at being sinister. The story being a little far fetched but you don't mind at all. The pace is rather good and upon watching it again. I enjoyed it. Mad scientist storyline is usually good and this one is no different. 8/10.

Tale by: kiki really wasn't a fan of this episode. got a little bored midway.

likeable characters. the villain was creepy. but overall not an interesting story.

fun fact though. i looked through the IMDB page of Don Jordan, the guy who played the father, and he was in a movie called Fart The Movie. would really like to get my hands on that one. i'm sure me at 8 years old would have loved that. anyways, i liked Don Jordan's style. the main family was a fun family, it's a shame they got such a lame episode.
