The story here is not so exciting as the previous episode. Only the usual and expected noir atmosphere is really worth. An important city employee in charge of enforcing the racket business is killed and his corpse left in a car; but before he died, his murderers thrown the car to simulate an accident and this killed nearly a whole family. So the police investigates. Jack Warden, the lieutenant, is on the case, ordered by his chief to take the place, "for the moment", of the deceased. So that he will be able to get what all this is exactly about. The racket business head who ordered the employee's killing have to be brought to justice. You see, nothing special here. Only for noir atmosphere. That's not so bad after all. Directed by Joseph Newman, written by the great WR Burnett, and also guest starred by Vera Miles.
