The story begins at jail. A man being held for a hit and run is VERY anxious to get out of jail...so anxious that he offers the young rep from a bail bond company a HUGE bonus for letting him out. The bonus...cutting him in on some loot from a recent robbery! Well, the young lawyer in training allows his greed to blind him and they go into business with each other. However, when the man is let out of jail on bond, he runs off and it turns out he was a liar. But the student catches up to him....there's a gun fight and the crook is killed. On him, the student finds a fortune in stolen jewels....and common sense disappears and he takes the loot and runs. The big problem is that in addition to Barnaby Jones looking for him, so is the dead man's partner!

This is an interesting episode about greed and foolishness. Not brilliant but still quite good and well worth seeing.

Always good to see Sheree North and on this Barnaby Jones, she was good as always along with the regular QM actress Lynne Marta.

This is an intriguing "double cross" story, well written by Robert Sherman, who also was one of the co-producers of the series. Sherman later wrote for FANTASY ISLAND.

It's all about a pile of stolen loot, tied to a guy in jail who bribes a bails bondsman to get him out ASAP. If he helps him, there's a tidy amount of money waiting! Of course, you know there's some tricks up the guys sleeve and that's when Barnaby enters the picture.

Very well acted, and with special guest star Sheree North, playing Roxie, who runs the bail bond company, called BAD BOYS BAIL BONDS! Sheree is always great to watch, who earlier in her career was groomed to be the next Marilyn Monroe.

Also look for Lynn Marta as Sally, who could play some defining characters, both good and bad.

Famous bit actor Bob Harks, who acted in a ton of movies and tv shows, plays a sheriff.

This episode also holds the distinction of being the first that actually shows Barnaby taking a stiff drink(!) at the end of the case! Why Not?
