[last lines]
Bradley Fredericks : Melissa, uhm, if you'd just told me how important that money was to you.
Melissa Morgan : You'd never understand - how could you? You were born rich, you lived rich. You were so rich, you didn't even want the money. I've never had anything in my whole life.
Bradley Fredericks : But, was it worth killing two people?
Melissa Morgan : I'd have sold my soul for it.

Melissa Morgan : [Melissa walks out on deck of the sailing boat and confronts Mr. Catlin] How can a rich man like you let his son live from one day to the next, from hand to mouth.
R.B. Catlin : I bet it came as quite a surprise to you didn't it, the bride of poor Brad Fredericks, discovered she's actually married a Catlin, heir to an untold fortune. You had to know he was a Catlin or you wouldn't have married him.
Melissa Morgan : I found out by accident that he was your son. Brad doesn't know I even know who he really is.
R.B. Catlin : If he wants to wander around like a hippie taking pictures of crocuses for twenty dollars a crocus, that's his business. If he's too proud to put on a suit and tie and take his rightful place in the Catlin Industries, then both of you can go right on living on thistles, pine cones, and chicken fat. That's final.

[first lines]
Bradley Fredericks : Ah, my little bride, look at this.
[He hands her a picture of a bird]
Bradley Fredericks : See the Y-4 shutter cuts the shutter to one hundred. Look at the detail.
Melissa Morgan : Brad, it's beautiful!
Bradley Fredericks : Yea, isn't it? I better get packing. Heavy dew last night. Those wild flowers are gonna have a texture to them like velvet today. I won't be back until sunset. Miss me?
Melissa Morgan : Uh-hum, like crazy.
[They kiss]
Melissa Morgan : While you're gone I'd better drive into the city today and do some shopping. The larder is getting a little low.
Bradley Fredericks : Well, let's splurge. As soon as we get this series off to the Annual we'll be solvent again. You'll see.
Melissa Morgan : We'll get by.
Bradley Fredericks : You bet. Bye-bye.
[He walks away. She looks at the bird picture again, drops the picture, and rolls her eyes in annoyance]
