The Clampetts were planning to drive their jalopy home but they ended up taking an airplane back home. It's the Clampetts first time back home since striking it rich and moving to Beverly Hills. The Clampetts seem right at home with their relatives.

It's the Clampetts' first California Xmas and Granny can't wait to get back to the snowy hills because in CA "the weather's as mixed up as the people".
Mr. Drysdale has arranged first-class VIP jet travel including a limo to Cousin Pearl's, and has gifted Granny and Elly with mink coats. They mistake the plane for a giant bus and Granny says "Let's get off this thing before it gets any higher".
Miss Jane bids Jethro adieu with a kiss and warns the stewardess "the tall, young, good-looking one is MINE!".
Back at the cabin, Pearl is angling for a Xmas proposal from Mr. Brewster and just as she's certain he's gonna pop the question, she finds out he's looking for a housekeeper - not a wife! She storms out in a huff, taking her homemade curtains and goodies with her.
After the Clampetts arrive back home and hug Pearl and Jethrine (Max Baer Jr in drag), Grandpa Winch (Paul Winchell in old-age makeup) invites Granny on a sleigh ride. But when he promises to behave, she quips, "Then I may as well stay here!".
A very good episode, even if it could have been set around any holiday or special occasion. Being Season 1, the fish-out-of-water jokes are still fresh and funny here. This and the Season 2 Xmas episode (which is funnier) are definitely worth seeing.
