This was the final on-screen appearance of Dick York as Darrin Stephens. This episode was filmed on September 19, 1968, and Elizabeth Montgomery was not pregnant yet.
During the summer hiatus after this episode aired, between the fifth and sixth seasons, ABC reran 6 of the 14 non-Darrin episodes in the final weeks before season six began. This was a needed gap before Dick Sargent started as the new "Darrin." The final Dick York episode to air in primetime (as a rerun) was "Samantha the Sculptress" on August 7, 1969.
Dick York had to learn some Spanish for the making of this episode. His pronunciation was quite impressive for a non-speaker, as was his pronunciation of Italian when he did a similarly-themed episode in that language.
Herbert Winters (Tabitha's Waiter) made approximately 68 appearances on the show, all of them in uncredited parts as waiters, elevator operators, delivery men, or restaurant patrons. He was also Darrin's "Stand in," a person who takes the place of a principal actor for rehearsals, camera blocking, or lighting setups.
The Spanish-dubbed version of this episode is called "Samantha y Darrin en Montrèal."
